Internship Experience

As a product design intern, I led one project from research to development handoff and was in charge of designing 2 smaller projects within the platform.

I have so much more to show you, but this project is under Non Disclosure Agreement. Contact me to see more exciting stuff! 💚

The Crux

During the summer of 2020, I spent 12 weeks designing for Juniper Fabric Management Dashboard. It is a B2B networking platform which enables customers to efficiently visualize critical data in realtime and proceed to take necessary steps in troubleshooting. Apart from this, I ideated, conceptualized, conducted research and designed the complete remote troubleshooting mobile application.

My Role

SPOTLIGHT

Highlights of my internship

Patenting the concept

I patented an Augmented Reality based troubleshooting application concept to help network administrators in debugging.

Presenting to CTO

I was one of top 2% of interns whose work was selected to present to CTO Raj Yavatkar and his direct staff.

Parallel product cycles

I worked on 2 product cycles in two different design systems, balancing both in parallel.

Remote Troubleshooting Application

Ideated, conducted research and designed an AR based troubleshooting application to help network administrators and system engineers in remote debugging and navigation at data centers. This was my main project during the internship which was pitched to the R&D team and got approval for development phase.

Note: You are only seeing the login screen because it's under NDA! 😅

JFM Heatmap Workflow Redesign

Juniper Fabric Management dashboard is a platform to monitor important metrics for analyzing the health of the networking units. I worked on redesigning the workflow for a visualization component of the platform by making it intuitive and easy to navigate. The revised was not only better in navigation, but was considered more feasible based on engineering standpoint.

Reflecting over the experience

Curious to know more about my internship experience?

While I was interviewing for the position at Juniper, I contributed to their medium publication by writing about my experience and key takeaways from the internship.

Fun Fact: I promised myself while applying for the internship that if I get selected, I will definitely contribute the publication because it helped me gain a lot of perspective about the organization before getting interviewed.
